Many of you have probably seen this idean on pinterest and I think it is the hottest idea of the season. FYI, I stole the pic, these are not actually my pumpkins because I haven't done this project yet but wanted to get it out there. Will add my pumpkin pics when they are done.
It is very simple: tip - before you go to the pumpkin patch, locate your drill and make sure it is charged. Otherwise you will be frustrated returning with your pumpkins and having to wait to do your project. 1. Get some medium size pumpkins 2. Cut the tops off and gut the pumpkin like you would for any normal carving 3. Try to thin your walls a bit from the inside so that the light can shine through the holes 4. Grab your husban's drill from the charger and use a medium size drilling bit 5. Drill any fun pattern you want - lots of ideas if you use google images 6. Add a candle inside and wait for it to get dark! Some additional fun optional tips I plan to try: 1. Spray your pumpkin with a clear gloss or clear sparkily paint to make it last longer and give it some shimmer 2. You can put clear or sparkily marbles in the holes if you make them the rights size 3. Paint your pumpkin a fun color or slip a small one into a pair of lacy hosiery This is a beautiful and fun idea that eliminates the frustrations of cutting a face.
